Yes, Obama and His Top Officials Must Be Prosecuted

See my hit on NewsNation as Batya Ungar-Sargon makes the case that Trump himself is somehow guilty of “weaponizing” government…for uncovering the misdeeds of the conniving plotters who ACTUALLY weaponized government in a dishonest hoax conspiracy to try to poison his presidency.

To be clear, Batya does amazing work, especially regarding the need to center our politics and policies around building a prosperous middle class again. She’s a really persuasive and valuable voice.

But I am hearing similar surrender sentiments from far too many people. Even normally dependable, right-of-center voices grab onto this acquiescence proposal: ‘isn’t it better if we just move along and not go after Obama and his team?’

The only logical answer is NO. HELL NO!

We simply cannot unify around a false premise. We cannot pretend these crimes did not occur. If proven in courts of law, they form the greatest scandal in US political history…and that claim is no exaggeration.

Remember the sequence of events in this saga. The timeline is everything. On December 9, 2016, the President’s Daily Briefing to then-President Obama determined that there was no evidence of collusion between the Russians and Trump. Yet, just days later, at Brennan’s insistence, the official Intelligence Community Assessment determined the exact opposite, overruling the objections of his own analysts. We now have the receipts, thanks to Tulsi Gabbard.

Obama, Brennan, and Clapper then used that lie to send Comey to Trump Tower to try to trap the incoming president into some bogus “confession.” Even worse, they schemed to leak that briefing to the media, which they did, to lay the malicious, untrue predicate for the entire Russian collusion hoax.

That massive lie consumed much of the first two years of Trump’s first term.

They knew it was a grand lie. They used the full power of American intelligence and law enforcement to validate and spread that propaganda smear — and for that crime, we demand accountability. NOW.
