"Born Lucky": Leland Vittert's Autism Story
Inspiring new book about a dedicated father and a grateful son.
You probably would not guess that a child who grew up with serious challenges from autism could one day become a prime time TV host, someone who talks for a living?
But that story is the life journey of my friend Leland Vittert.
I am frequently on his show, you’ve probably seen him often over the years broadcasting. He just wrote a remarkable memoir about his life.
His story is incredible. He got diagnosed with autism at a young age but his parents told no one -- no teachers/no special help...nothing.
The book goes way beyond autism and is a must read for all parents -- finally someone is showing the danger of giving every kid a diagnosis and then lowering the expectations for them.
Here is a video he did about the book
Leland gave me a sample chapter for my readers:
His dad became a full time parent/coach to help him adapt to the real world.
From overcoming bullying as a child to surviving war zone, it really shows the other side of America's diagnosis culture... including the danger of diagnosing everyone.
I loved the book, its out sept 30th and suggest you pre-order it now!
