I was honored to speak recently at the Conference of Paris — a gathering of some of the most influential figures in business and politics. The conference is mostly Europeans, but some well-known Americans attended and spoke as well, such as hedge fund magnate from Miami, Ken Griffin.
I was asked to speak about patriotic populism in America and what our movement means for the trans-Atlantic alliance.
As you can tell from this video, I was not bashful about suggesting to the Europeans that the United States has serious doubts about the trends in Europe, especially regarding mass migration and a marked turn philosophically toward secular humanism.
Of course, we still intensely revere Europe as the home of Western Civilization. The U.S. is truly the child of Europe — but sometimes children are understandably disappointed in their parents!
In both my official presentation and in many smaller conversations, I encouraged the Europeans to again embrace their culture, formed over so many centuries as the home of Christianity and progenitor of the West.
In the meantime, I also made the case that the United States will increasingly direct its foreign policy energies to our own hemisphere — to Making the AMERICAS Great Again.
