The foremost challenge facing America right now is not the violence in Ukraine. Not by a long shot. The biggest problem for America right now is a totally corrupt and mediocre garbage ruling class that insists…that citizens actually believe that Ukraine is our biggest issue.

In this regard, Michael McFaul embodies this very dilemma. He earned widespread, deserved scorn for his ludicrous claim on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show that Putin somehow exceeded Hitler’s malevolence because the Fuhrer did not, according to McFaul, “kill ethnic Germans, German-speaking people.” As I wrote about in my prior column, that news would be quite surprising to the souls of hundreds of thousands of German citizens slaughtered by Hitler, including 160,000+ German Jews.

But before you totally disregard this ludicrous lie as a typical corporate media blather, consider that the source was the former Ambassador to Russia for President Obama, former Rhodes Scholar, and present professor at Stanford University. By the standards of the credentialed class, Michael McFaul represents the tip of the establishment spear. Despite seemingly august certifications, this charlatan spews dishonest drivel with regularity, on some of the most prolific platforms in American society.

Earlier, Professor Ambassador McFaul bragged rather openly about the incredible perquisites of the life he is accorded as a supposed intellectual acolyte for the American ruling class. In private DMs (direct messages) on Twitter, McFaul confronted an anonymous internet troll who had mocked him online. The former American ambassador declared that “I have a job for life at the best university in the world…I live in a giant house in paradise. I make close to a million dollars a year.” The professor continued with his self-assured sermon: “I have adoring fans on tv and a half million followers on twitter, 99% who also admire me.”

McFaul, he reminds us, is truly living his best life.

Undoubtedly, his checklist of rewards accurately describes the benefits of serving as a pseudo-scholar for the ruling class. After all, defense contractors, corporate media, and big tech desire characters like Dr. McFaul to lend an air of legitimacy to the oppression they visit upon everyday citizens in America.

The oligarchs who actually run our society, they need beards like McFaul to present a veneer of ostensible seriousness to the machinations of Cathedral. In this case, McFaul is supposed to provide cover for the ruling class insistence that America insert itself aggressively into a clearly regional Black Sea struggle. McFaul was intended to simply exaggerate the importance of that regional conflict and frame it in terms of existential significance to Americans. Instead, he “jumped the shark” and fumbled with his ‘worse than Hitler’ comparison of ahistorical lies.
